Meditation is one method to help you deal with the stress and anxiety of everything going on in the world these days.
Stress and anxiety can lead you to develop heart disease
That’s why it is important to start figuring it out now even if you don’t have heart disease.
I originally started meditating in 2013 to help my sleep. It took me years to really get into it. I’m still a work in progress, I currently meditate 20 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes at night and sometimes randomly during the day. Here are some tips if you’re new-ish to meditating:
- Yoga classes. If you are having a lot of trouble getting into meditation start with yoga. Most yoga classes end with shavasana which is a blend of relaxation and meditation
- Meditation classes. Guided meditation classes can help because people usually talk about their experiences and the shared experience can help you get more into it
- @Headspace Meditation App. I like this app the most when I’a at home and it’s quiet. There isn’t any background noise, so there’s nothing to focus on except the guided meditation
- @Calm Meditation App. I like this app the most if I am trying to meditate somewhere noisy, like on a plane, because you can add background noise on the app which can help drown out the background noise IRL and this can help you focus on meditating. I like ocean background noises but there are a lot of different options you can pick from
And you, how long have you been meditating?
